TITLE:
Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence and Lenovo ThinkPad Notebooks
SYMPTOM:
When Jabber Video is used on Lenovo ThinkPad Notebooks, the outgoing or receiving video will produce an error upon connection as shown below.
This is due to an incorrect bandwidth setting within the Cisco Jabber application.
AFFECTED CONFIGURATIONS:
ThinkPad
AFFECTED SYSTEMS:
any Lenovo ThinkPad with Internal front-facing camera
SYSTEM IS CONFIGURED WITH:
Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence version 4.6 or later
OPERATING SYSTEMS:
Microsoft Windows 7
Microsoft Windows 8
SOLUTION:
The user should change the default bandwidth settings within the Jabber application from the default of 1.30 Mb/s to 764 kb/s.
The default Jabber Video bandwidth is set to 1.30 Mb/s. This setting does not produce optimal results with this application.
