TITLE:
Left side of USB port cannot detect USB 2.0 device after IFFS resumes under DC mode.
SYMPTOM:
When the system enters the S3 (Sleep) power state under the DC mode, it will automatically enter into the IFFS mode after three hours. After the system resumes, the left side of the USB port cannot detect the USB 2.0 device.
AFFECTED CONFIGURATIONS:
ThinkPad
AFFECTED SYSTEMS:
S431
S3-S431
SYSTEM IS CONFIGURED WITH:
SSD or HDD and NGFF with an IFFS Hibernation partition
OPERATING SYSTEMS:
Microsoft Windows 7
Microsoft Windows 8
SOLUTION:
A future BIOS update will be released to resolve this issue.
WORKAROUND:
1. There is a reset hole in the D cover. Click this hole with a
thin/long material to reset the system.

2. It is recommended to not enter the system into the S3 (Sleep)
power state over three hours without AC.
3. Disable IFFS in the BIOS Setup Menu (Configuration, Power, Intel
Rapid Start Technology, Disabled).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This is a BIOS defect.
