- These instructions are recommended for advanced users who are familiar with modifying networking components.
- You must log on to Windows with an account with computer administrator privileges.
To reinstall TCP/IP:
- Click the Start button.
- Type: control panel
- As you type, results will appear and change. Select Control Panel.
- Under Network and Internet, click the View network status and tasks link.
- In the left column, click the Change adapter settings link.
- Right-click your network connection.
- From the drop-down list, select Properties.
- If you are reinstalling the TCP/IP for a modem connection, select the Networking tab.
- Click the Install... button.
- Select Protocol.
- Click the Add... button.
- Click the Have Disk... button.
- In the Copy manufacturer's files from: text box, type: c:\windows\inf
- Click OK.
- Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
- Click OK.
- Restart your computer.
