SYMPTOM:
The Lenovo USB 2.0 USB Ethernet adapter may not work when the adapter is attached to the system. This issue is caused by the adapter that has the incorrect Vendor ID (VID)/Product ID (PID). Then, the appropriate driver cannot be installed.

To verify whether the VID/PID is correct, refer to the Hardware ID under the Detail tab of the USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter in Device Manager.
