TITLE:
Heavy CPU load when using DisplayPort-with-Audio monitor with docking station

SYMPTOM:

The user will experience a heavy CPU load when using a DisplayPort-with-Audio monitor with the docking station. The CPU usage increases to approximately 50 percent according to Task Manager. The system performance becomes low.

AFFECTED CONFIGURATIONS:
ThinkPad

AFFECTED SYSTEMS:

T430

SYSTEM IS CONFIGURED WITH:
UMA (Intel graphics) models with an i5 or i3 CPU. Systems with an i7 CPU are not affected.

Dock station with USB 3.0 and EIZO monitor (FlexScan EV2416)

OPERATING SYSTEMS:
Microsoft Windows 7

SOLUTION:
None.

WORKAROUND:
Option 1: Disable the eSATA port via the BIOS Setup Utility.

Option 2: Use the DisplayPort on the system.

Option 3: Use the DVI port instead of the DisplayPort on the Dock.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Currently, the issue could only be reproduced with EIZO monitor (FlexScan EV2416). This issue does not occur with other monitors or with ThinkPad X230, T430, T530 and W530 systems.
